Was my first plant, when I knew nothing about plants. They’ve been heavily abused abs neglected. Left weeks on end in standing water whilst on vacation, which resulted in awful root rot. I would only water once the leaves were shriveled and almost dead but each time they’ve come back fighting. Now my passion for plants has awoken I treat them like they deserve to be treated. The leaves have almost completely returned to lush and green. I’ve only seen them in bloom once (when I first purchased them two years ago) and with the neglect it’s experienced it’s not surprising as to why. I now patiently await their flowers from their former glory once again! 🙏🏾

I have owned my peace lily Geoffrey for over 20 years. This plant has survived harsh winters and hot summers. It has survived a particularly nasty battle with fungus gnats, root rot and long periods of under-watering. These plants are fantastic as a starter plant, or if you firmly believe that you just can't keep anything alive.
Currently my peace lily is in a 15cm diameter pot that is about 25cm tall. I have chosen to plant my peace lily in bark to prevent root rot as it does like quite a bit of water and I was finding it difficult to find a good balance of watering. I would highly recommend allowing this plant to become root bound before reporting as they like a tight spot. The leaves do get brown at the tips but I believe that's just the nature of the plant, so if you want something evergreen this may not be for you. Peace lily's don't need (or in my experience, like) direct sunlight so you can really just tuck it away in a corner to brighten the space up a bit.
Geoffrey has also give me many babies over the years but I do not believe you can propagate these plants using the water roofing method. They just produce new plants around the base much like some species of aloe.
5/5 love this plant.

Peace Lily’s are super resilient. I left mine outside for two weeks without water and the moment I watered it it sprung back up. It’s bloomed four or five gorgeous flowers and is great for the air. I never have any issues with it and it requires minimal effort.

I have two Peace Lilly plants. One was so large, I split it into two pots. They grow beautiful flowers. The most I have had at one time are 4 on one plant. They have a reputation for being “dramatic “, appearing to wilt when they start to get a little dry. Once watered, they spring right back. I’ve had to be careful to not overwater them. I really like the Greg app for helping me moderate my tendency to overwater my plants!
