How to fertilize Alverson's Pincushion
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Alverson's Pincushion after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Any idea why it's white? Is it normal? I do have her under a grow light. Water her when fully dry. Is it normal new growth or could she be too close to the light?

I just saved this cactus from my grandmas house from what she said i think she maybe over fertilized him, and kept him in a non drainage hole plastic pot. i let him sit for 3 days to get used to his new environment. just today i put him in a new unglazed clay drainage pot…. i noticed when repotting him his roots were a bit orange but long, most of his spikes are black and, he’s also partially brown.. my question is i guess if theres anything else i should do to save him?
