How to fertilize Heart Fern
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Heart Fern after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

What’s going on with my heart fern? My heart fern has developed these weird brown patches all over in the last few weeks. I don’t see any signs of pests, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. Does ayone have any ideas of what this is, or suggestions for what I can do to help the plant? Thanks! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantCorner #PlantProblems #brownspots #brownleaves #theamigos #HeartFern #Diseases #LaSiguanaba #theamigos

Thirsty #HeartFern I recently got my first heart fern and find my his leaves curling almost daily. When I pick him up he’s really dry. Is this caused by the grow light?

I just got this heart fern and she looks very…sad #HeartFern I got her in the mail and shipping took a really long time and she’s never looked great, but she’s still in her nursery pot but pretty much root bound. A ton of her leaves came off and I clipped some of the dying ones. What can I do to bring her back to her life? She’s next to a humidifier, has no direct sun, and is just sad in general. She’s right by a grow light but I’m not sure if that’s making it better or worse? is there a heart fern #doctor out there who can help? I was planning on reporting tonight with more soil, but will wait on an answer.

Fine one day and now… Hey everyone! I have a heart leaf fern that I’d purchased online. When she came to me she looked like the first picture and we were happy for about a week. Now she’s been like this ever since with little no change. Tried changing the watering schedule, bright light vs medium, placement to window…any ideas?

I love this plant. It has a lot of personality with its leaves and wire like stems. Like my other ferns, this fern requires some attention. It drinks a lot of water, requiring watering every 2-3 days. I keep it in a pot with drainage and check the soil every day with a chopstick. If it is almost dry I give it water. If you let it dry out completely between watering the leaves will curl up. If you get water to it fast enough they recover very quickly. If you aren’t able to tend to you plants daily, this is not the plant for you.
