Beautiful and striking, classic farmhouse decor plant. In the right location, easy to care for, otherwise can brown and look straggly.

Leaves were dropping and I found spider mites on him. Treated him and moved him closer to a window and now he's doing great!

There are from Africa so they thrive on hot dry weather. When they are watered, it’s flooded but drains quickly. Do not let your plant sit in water!

Doesn’t like change in environment quickly. We got it from Lowe’s but it started browning when we got it to my house because of the change in the environment. But the leafs are really pretty and it’s a good inside plant

As others have said - can be finicky and doesn’t like change. Expect some dormancy, browning/dropping leaves if you change location or repot.

High maintenance. But, if she likes you, she will show the happiness through new leafs every month. Mine has her own “sun” (grow light) and she is thriving.

I’m having better luck with the smaller ones than the larger at the moment and I’m quite pleased. I’ve had new growths lately and it’s a joy to watch the new leaves unfold.

They’re both a good distance away from the window next to a small humidifier.

I know these are known as really finicky & not the easiest plants to grow, but that’s not what my experience has been at all. I give it organic fertilizer monthly & she keeps growing!!

Beautiful large leaves give it an interesting prehistoric look. It’s very sensitive to watering. I still guess but usually water thoroughly once a week to every other week. If you let it dry out to much leaves start to fall and they don’t grow back so plant can look scraggly. Also can get too heavy. I have several and I can’t figure out how to thicken the trunk up. :/ Still one of my favorite house plants that adds lots of visual height to a room.
