Does anyone know why my peppermint plant has these bugs flying around it? And how do I get rid of them?

My peppermint plant Scarlett has these mat looking things flying around it and I don't know why? I just got her last week I think.

Are they tiny?  Likely fungus gnats. Don’t harm the plant but can make us nuts.
