Why is my plants roots orange?

i was watering my plants this morning, i normally water them over the top i today put him in a bowl of water to drink from the bottom. i noticed the roots are bright orange and im not sure if they’re supposed to be bright orange. if the roots aren’t supposed to be orange what should i do to save the plant. i also noticed the top of the cactus is wilting a bit.
