Shriveling up?
#TephrocactusGeometricus When I got this, the soil was drenched but still looked healthy. I took it out of the pot and let it dry out for 4 days before
repotting. Itβs been about 2-3 weeks and itβs starting to wrinkle and is less firm. I watered it and itβs more wrinkly. The top ball is firm and starting to push out white fuzzies. Did I mess up? How do I fix it?

@CaringGeropogon they were exposed and drying out. Iβm still a little nervous because itβs wrinkly. Iβm not sure if I should just toss the bottom and get the little ball in soil.
@PiperCosmo the inside of the rootball may still be alive but i would take the dead roots off to prevent rot
@CaringGeropogon okay, stupid question butβ¦after the dead roots are removed, should I immediately repot it or let it βrecoverβ outside the pot for a day or two?
@PiperCosmo i wouldnβt suggest ever leaving the roots exposed cause they will dry out. iβd just repot and then not repot again unless needed
