Kitten help! #PetsAndPlants

#VariegatedSpiderPlant #HappyPlants Any tips for keeping curious kittens away from plants? Looking for a safe option that is safe for plants and animals! πŸ™
Hi Maureen, one of the best ways is to use strong-smelling substances like citrus, coffee grounds, essential oils like eucalyptus or peppermint, lavender... something when you sniff it, you can really smell it strongly.
I can give you lots of examples and uses, but you get the general idea.
Hope this helps answer your question. All the best πŸ‘
@Seymour you are the best! Is there a bottled spray you recommend or just use essential oils with spray bottle? This kitty likes to bite the plants right now, so something I can potentially spray on leaves that is Safe for them and this tornado kitty! Pic of Bob for sympathy! 🀣
@Maurs_Oasis Hey Maureen, I think the easiest way to answer that is just give you an article with eg recipes and info. Let me know if you need more info or advice as there are some different ways but the principle is the same, have something that the cays think that's not very pleasant I think I will go elsewhere.
It's simple but it is very practical and importantly safe. Thanks for asking πŸ™‚

@Maurs_Oasis nice one, Bob wins the sympathy and should have been on the pets day page (or could still go on there?) I can send the link if you like but it is very very long, lots of pet lovers...including me LOL πŸ˜†
@Maurs_Oasis ooh he does look mischievous! I have one of those myself lol. Anytime I'm not doing what he's trained me to do or not showing him enough attention he goes straight for my plants 😈
@Maurs_Oasis just in case Bob wants to go public for sympathy

@Seymour just shared 2 out of 4 fur babies over there. Thanks Seymour! 😻. I’m reading that article now, thank you so much for your help! Will try to keep you updated! πŸ™β€οΈ
@Lifeis2short they definitely know!! 🀣
@Maurs_Oasis all sounds good and happy to help answer your question, for you and Bob and your plants! Maybe Bob will Bob up on the pet post ...

I do drops of orange essential oil around my plant and pots that kitties are drawn to every now and then. Any really unsafe ones need to be up where they just can’t get to them. In my experience they REALLY like Calatheas, my FLF gets munched on, and just caught my kitty eating my Umbrella Tree yesterday. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ But honestly he will try almost anything within his reach, EXCEPT fresh catnip. πŸ‘€ I do sometimes grow some wheatgrass for him, he really likes that. When he has something he is allowed to eat I find he leaves the others alone more.
Just thought I’d share. I had just added orange oil. Lol, he was VERY interested in Raven’s new spot. 😻
Here is what I use. Seems to work, though our new cats only go for the ponytails to begin with.
