New growth dying?

Every time this guy starts new growth, it dies before it can really actually grow. What's wrong?

With pothos what they’ll do is they will put out runner vines, which are long vines with no leaves, they push these out with the intent of growing new leaves. What you might be thinking is β€˜dead’ is the sheaths this is what protects the new leaf before it comes out or pushes new growth, these aren’t new growth it’s like a protector film over the leaf
Sometimes plants will get leggy if they don't get enough light. These guys are pretty hardy, and your plant looks healthy so these are probably runners like MO said.

If what you're seeing are little baby leaves pop up and then die then you may want to change your watering frequently so the plant has what it needs to sustain the growth.
