When should I repot my echeveria?

I bought this little plant from IKEA three weeks ago. Initially, it was all dark green, but after placing it near a window with three hours of direct sunlight daily, it has started turning pinkish, and its leaves have perked up significantly. I know it has acclimated, but its current pot is getting tight, and I want to repot it into a larger terracotta pot. Is late October a good time to do this? If so, should I water it immediately after repotting or wait a few days? Also, should I keep it in direct sunlight after repotting?

Thanks in advance, fellow echeveria parents!

I would leave it. Succulents are generally slow growers. You could also check the roots to see what they're looking like to decide if it needs to be repotted.

But, if you are looking to repot into a more appropriate succulent/cactus soil, then you should be good to do that now
Hi @PluckyCapnoides if you’re in the northern hemisphere it’s probably better to wait until spring to repot. It should be ok in its home until then.
Succulents like pretty snug pots, and right now, it's probably too cold to repot. But when you repot, use a pot the only an inch or two bigger than its current pot, with drainage holes. Use a homemade succulent soil mix (find a recipe online) and watch a video on how to repot succulents.
Also, here's another Echeveria tip: it has this waxy film on it called farina, and it acts as a natural sunscreen. If you touch the plant too much, that could wipe off the farina, and it can get sunburnt easier.
Thank you for the responses!

I’ll repot it now since I live in Greece, and it’s not too cold at the moment. I’ll use a succulent soil mix in a slightly larger terracotta pot, water it, and move it a bit away from direct sunlight for the first few days. Hopefully, this will work :)

Thanks again for the help!
I think you should wait at least 3 days to water in case any roots get damaged during repotting. Of course always wait until the plant is in need of water before watering.
Just wanted to say woohoo on the color change and happy leaves!!! It’s getting a perfect amount of light right now. It looks amazing!
Like others have said, you should be fine to repot it, but either way If you just leave it in that pot til spring / early summer you should be fine too. She or he looks really happy and healthy though! & try hard not to touch the leaves to much because it takes forever for that layer of β€œfuz” to grow back and that’s what protects them from being sunburned etc. That’s why bottom watering them is much better ! Good luck with your beautiful new baby! πŸ₯°
@Momof83ans i took couple succulents to be repotted, they told me the same.
@PluckyCapnoides I am curious to know how much you paid for this plant if you don’t mind me asking? To me, I’ve always seen IKEA is being very expensive. Your succulent is beautiful.
Aww it’s so cute! Love the stress coloring 😍
@YesGoldentorch I’m not great with succulents but I know they like to be left alone. So that’s always my stance. πŸ˜‰ that’s cool that you took them somewhere to be repotted.
I would leave repotting till Spring.
Do not water for 3 days after repotting. This will prevent the root rot on injured roots.
Keep in bright INDIRECT Sun for a week after reporting. Then give the usual hours of direct sunlight.
That looks like an echeveria lilacina 😍
@BestSulluspurge Sorry it took me so long to see your question! If I'm not mistaken, it was only 4.99 euros. However, keep in mind that I live in Greece, so prices might vary depending on where you live. Thank you so much for your kind words about my succulentβ€”she’s still thriving! πŸ’•βœ¨οΈ
@PluckyCapnoides Thanks for your response. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have tons of succulents here. They seem to like the cool, foggy climate. Wow, I’d LOVE to visit Greece! πŸͺ΄πŸŒ±
