How often do I need to water my plant? How much?

#Dracaena
5ft to light, indirect
10โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
There's no easy answer to that I'm afraid Diana ๐Ÿ˜‚ there isn't a "one size fits all" schedule... The best advice I can give is to stick your finger (or a skewer/ knitting needle/ even a pencil! ๐Ÿ˜‚) into the soil as far as you can push it and if it feels at all damp or cold, don't water him! They like to really dry out.

Once he starts to look a wee bit droopy, or your happy that his soil is really dry as far as you can feel it, stand his pot in a bucket or deep bowl with water for 15-20mins until the soil feels damp on the top surface, and he's done ๐Ÿ’š repeat as needed

You'll find his soil will dry at different rates at different times of year, and ultimately your finger is the best tool you have for deciding if he needs a drink or not x
Thank you
Hello, it seems you have a Dracaena Marginata (judging by the edges of the leaves, which seem almost magenta). My dad has a plant with a pot that is 5 inches bigger than yours, and he gives about a gallon or less of water every two or so weeks. I think that probably a cup or a cup and a half every two weeks will do for you, if you want to do it the easy way.
