How long do seeds take to sprout roots?

i still have my seeds in their plastic baggie, waiting for them to grow their roots a little before i put them into dirt. its been about a week, how long should luffa seeds take?

That's gonna be cool! Are those luffa sponge seeds?

As long as the temperature is warm and not fluctuating￼, the seeds should sprout in a few weeks.  Are you starting them inside?

I’ve seen posts where people start them inside by soaking them in warm water 24 hours before planting them in seedling trays and use fine grit sandpaper on the seeds before soaking them- just a few strokes.
