wobbly plant!!

he was wobbly when i got him and then stable and now he’s VERY unstable and idk if these pics help since i can’t upload a video but he’s very much leaning to one side where the leaves are but feels super weak on the other side. whenever i tilt him or make sure he’s sitting straight up to the other side he ends up like lolling around on his neck or stem to find the heavy leaf side!
5” pot with drainage

@nvandtxplantmom oh no!! You likely have a top heavy baby with a weak root system. Good news is that it’s not fatal!

Your soil looks pretty good from the pictures, so you don’t need to repot. You might sniff the roots to see if they smell, if they do you need to treat for root rot. If not, prop it up! Best idea would be to stake the plant and give it some support. It could be as simple as two chopsticks and some twine. One stick on each side and wrap twine around the whole plant, that way the plant is kind of propped up but not attached to anything.

Or you could insert a trellis for it to lean on.

Once the roots are more established it should be strong enough to stand on its own. Baby plants or new plants don’t always have established root systems so they just need some help and support until the roots are stronger.

Hope you find a solution that works best for you! You got this!! Grow on!
Philodendron prince of orange is self headed and typically grows in a rosette without the need for a pole however, in my reddit plant group people have been putting them on poles with very nice results, larger leaves and more stability. That being said, make sure that there is not a watering issue causing the wobbly nature. It may be reaching for light.
@phytologyfan ah ok they are, since my house only faces the east and gets sun in the morning and that’s it, i am debating on getting a plant stand since these sills are not the best i’m finding out for how big my babies are growing
