How can I save this plant?

I just got this plant last night, (I think it’s an alocasia) and I think it has a lot of cold damage. I trimmed off all the dead leaves and have it in an east facing window. The base stems seem good and it does seem to be growing a few new healthy leaves. Is there anything else I should do to help it recover? Thank you so much!
1ft to light, direct
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
It looks like my cut leaf philodendron! I’m going through the same with an White butterfly Arrowhead plant. I just cut off damaged stems and give it some sun. It will recover!
Looks like a type of philodendron to me, but I’m sure there are some experts that will be able to ID it!
@Mell Awesome! Thank you so much! I actually just received an arrowhead plant in the mail and it also has some cold damaged because part of it was not fully wrapped. D:
@simplepleasure Thank you! I really wasn’t sure what type it was.
You’re welcome! Ugh I was so disappointed when I opened it and it looked like cooked spinach! Good luck with them both❀️
@Mell That sounds like what just happened to me. The bottom half of the plant was wrapped really well and looks fine, but the top was uncovered and looks all wilted. It’s so disappointing! Thank you, I really hope both make it! Good luck with yours too!
Give the plant time to recover. You’ve gotten rid of the dead leaves and placed it where it will get light. Now it’s time for the plant to do it’s thing.
Keep us posted!
@IndyMary Thank you so much! I will post updates!
I’d suggest warmth and light. It might take a bit to adjust but it will survive!
@mtronnow would setting it on a seed starter heat pad help? Thank you so much!
@bluebladeliger Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with heating pads but I don’t think it’d hurt? Don’t quote me 🀣
@mtronnow That’s okay! πŸ˜† Thanks! It’s pretty cold outside here, so I think for now I’ll just scoot it a little bit back from the window.
