Scale?
Is this what y'all keep referring to as #Scale? My string of rubies has these spots that have been there for a while. I only recently started noticing it on several different leaves. I also getting new growth on it, so it's not a complete lost cause. If it is scale, what do I do about it? What is scale, anyway?

Grab a qtip, dip it in isopropyl (no more than 70%) and hold it on the spot for 10-15 seconds. Try to rub it off. If it comes off like a scale, then it’s scale and you’ll either have to scrape off every scab (and disinfect the area with isopropyl), or remove any affected leaves.
I would quarantine the plant, set it in a smaller pot with fresh new soil and keep an eye. I use systemic granules since I can’t find any other way to get rid of them other than to remove all leaves and have it start new.
