Hi! My episcia is a little sad I got her from Lowe’s and ...
4ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
This plant is also called a Flame Violet and is fairly easy to care for so no worries 🥰
1. Soil
Well-draining, light, and airy soil is ideal. A mix of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark can work well, as it provides good drainage while retaining some moisture. Avoid heavy, compact soils.
2. Light
Episcia plants prefer bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, causing browning and damage. A location near a window with filtered light works best!
3. Watering
Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, but avoid over-watering. Episcia is susceptible to root rot if the soil stays too moist. Use lukewarm water and ensure the pot has good drainage.
Humidity is key too! Episcia enjoys a humid environment. If the air is dry, consider misting the plant or placing it on a humidity tray.
Extra tips 🥰
1. Temperature: Keep it in a warm room, ideally between 65-75°F
2. Fertilizing: Feed once a month with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer).
3. Pruning: Remove any dead or damaged leaves to encourage new growth.
Also...
If you notice browning edges, it might be due to underwatering, too much direct sun, or low humidity.
I hope this helps 🥰
