If this is an air plant, it looks like it's on its last legs. They need light and to be watered maybe once every two weeks or so. They don't need to be placed in any medium. I have mine with my other plants under a grow light and also spritz or soak her when she needs it. Maybe move yours to where it gets great light, give a soak if you haven't just watered, and see what happens.
Hi! This isn’t a marimo it’s an air plant but it does look like it died. They do need some humidity and should be soaked upside down about once a week.
