My Aglaonemas, those gorgeous Chinese Evergreens, are pretty easygoing, but to keep them looking their absolute best, I've learned a few tricks. I make sure they get bright, indirect light, like near an east- or north-facing window, but never direct sun. I check the soil before watering, only giving them a good drink when the top inch feels dry to the touch. They love humidity, so I mist them regularly and sometimes keep a tray filled with pebbles and water nearby to boost the moisture. During the growing season, I give them a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer to keep them happy. If any leaves start to yellow or look a bit sad, I prune them away to encourage bushier growth. They seem happiest in temperatures between 65ยฐF and 85ยฐF, so I keep them away from drafts or chilly windows in the winter. With just a bit of attention to detail, they reward me with vibrant foliage, adding a touch of the tropics to my home all year round.
