Best soil for snakes?

My #SnakePlant is doing great! (Actually all five of them are if I’m being honest) πŸ˜‰ but I worry that the store bought #SucculentMix I’ve been using for them is not cutting it. I was thinking of just using that - right now I’m finishing off my succulent soil from Miracle Gro - and adding perlite to chunk it up. What do you think? The succulent mix seems really dense and I don’t want to repot into a bigger pot just to get root rot. Thanks! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈβ€οΈ soilMix">#soilMix soilRecipe">#soilRecipe #Dracaena #SnakePlantSquad

@RealSimpleMama I had some janky succulent soil mix too and I just added extra Perlite and fine orchid bark to it and it works beautifully!
I have a snake plant. This is what I use as a base for most of my plants and this is what my snake plant is in right now. I do wait until the soil is fully dry before watering again. If you want to be extra safe I’d recommend Bonzai Jack which is straight up just small rocks and some bark.
I use a triple mix of 3 equal parts…
Succulent soil
Black Cow fertilizer
Coconut coir fiber
It has really helped my succulents.
Also, adding some super small rocks to the top.
Ehh, they don't seem to care imo. My gran's is in what looks like clay mud and a bit of sand and it does fine. Haven't changed in more than half a decade lol.
I actually have mine in the same chunky mix that I use for most of my other plants.
The miracle grow one works but top soil is ok too (I used topsoil and compost mixed them lol)
