What happened!?!

My aunt gifted me this large angel wing begonia and since having it healthy leaves just kept falling off and now I have two stems, one of which I’m sure is dead. It’s in the same conditions as my polka dot begonia which is thriving. The pot sue gave it to me in was huge and no drainage so all I can think is maybe it had root rot? I tried reporting but by then it was too late. Do I keep on hope with this last stem or cut my losses?

@AwesomePlants @yeahwills soil is too dense! You can only use dense soil for begonia if they are sitting outdoors. Otherwise add some more pumice and lava rocks to loosen up the soil. But dont fret still alive place the chonks on a well lit place and water sparingly until it roots out again.
@cjred any begonia tips you can give @yeahwills ?
looks like you may have developed root rot, this happened to my mini monstera gifted by my uncle. what i did whats propogate what i had left of the plant. unfortunate but things like this happen! don’t be afraid to make mistakes!!
You can take it out of the pot and check the roots. If there is even one that looks ok then get rid of the rest, sanitize and repot again. You never know!
