Dracula orchid help! #OrchidLovers
What do I do about this? I’m keeping the plant in low indirect sunlight, plenty of humidity, help!
1ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage

The brown with the yellowing at the tip of the orchid leaf could indicate various issues such as overwatering, root rot, or fungal infection. Check if the medium is consistently damp, as orchids prefer a well-draining environment. The use of sphagnum moss as a medium may contribute to excess moisture, potentially leading to issues like root rot. Orchids generally thrive in a well-draining mix, like orchid bark.
Also balancing watering and humidity is crucial; maintaining high humidity is beneficial, but avoiding waterlogged conditions is equally important for orchid health. (If the humidity is high you’ll want to cut down on watering as this is providing the plant too much water.) Consider repotting into a more suitable medium and adjust watering practices to strike the right balance.

The info you’ve been given is rather generic and wouldn’t actually keep a lot of orchids happy, probably only phals (ie, the oncidium alliance need to be kept evenly moist and don’t do well in pure bark) - it’s always best to follow advice that is specifically about your orchid type. I’m certainly no expert on Dracula orchids, though when some species like oncidiums get leaf tips like this, it’s usually an environmental thing that isn’t quite right. So it could be worth considering whether your environment needs tweaking a little - Miss Orchid Girl says Dracula orchids are very fussy about their environment. I believe that Dracula orchids are cool growers that prefer very high humidity (80-90%), low sun, and they like lots of air circulation to keep leaf problems at bay (I guess because they come from mountainous regions?) I found this culture sheet that may help https://www.rsbcos.org/Dracula%20Care%20Sheet.pdf Like some species of orchids, Dracula orchids can be very susceptible to salt build up that can damage and burn the leaf tips - salt build up comes from fertiliser and chemicals in water. If you’re already using RO water or rain water, it could be caused by fertiliser as there are no/very few salts in rain water/RO water.
