Hoya leaves yellowing at base?? Help!

I recently got this Hoya and since itโ€™s been with me itโ€™s leaves have started yellowing at the base of the plant. Does anyone know why? I saw this happening and already added fertilizer to helpfully help out the plant, but not sure if it did anything.
7ft to light, indirect
4โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 1 day ago

@Slyvie @pippi then thereโ€™s your cause right there! Underwatering โœ… Mathildeโ€™s do not like to dry out fully. Sounds like sheโ€™s in 100% tree fern fiber. Itโ€™s a good thing to add to your soil, but will not hold on to water long enough on its own. If sheโ€™s drying out too fast for you to water her properly I would put her in the next size up pot ๐Ÿฅฐ I always water my Mathilde when sheโ€™s about 90% dry. Sheโ€™s a fast bloomer too if sheโ€™s getting enough water. ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ
It looks to me like a watering issue. How big is that pot and how long are you going between watering? Do you check the soil before you water?
Hey there!
Hoya are a pretty easy plant to grow and if you wait long enough it will bloom.
In the meantime do not overwater. Let it dry out. And when you do water make sure the whole root ball is saturated. I usually set mine in a bowl of water for about 30 minutes. They also like bright light. Shows you have it 7 feet from a window, try moving it a little closer.
Let us know how it grows!!!
Green thumbs up!

@DreamMachine the pot is tiny and the substrate it came in is pretty well draining(it literally looks like she put the Hoya in a pile of tiny sticks lol). The soil is drying out completely in between watering and I do check, Iโ€™m worried itโ€™s underwatering actually. I just went on a long vacation and it went unwatered for awhile.
@pippi I have a grow light on it right now and just measured to make sure it was getting enough light(which it is!) it might be an underwatering issue.
Well there ya go, Nadia knows Mathildes ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
@pippi @Slyvie super fast growers too, when they have enough water and light! 1st pic is when I got my Mathilde in late March, rest of the pics are from now and sheโ€™s got three peduncles! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
@DreamMachine oh wow!! Canโ€™t wait for mine to kick off :D my other Hoya is growing fast, this oneโ€™s just having a hard time rn lol
