Hoya leaves yellowing at base?? Help!
I recently got this Hoya and since itโs been with me itโs leaves have started yellowing at the base of the plant. Does anyone know why? I saw this happening and already added fertilizer to helpfully help out the plant, but not sure if it did anything.
7ft to light, indirect
4โ pot with drainage

@Slyvie @pippi then thereโs your cause right there! Underwatering โ
Mathildeโs do not like to dry out fully. Sounds like sheโs in 100% tree fern fiber. Itโs a good thing to add to your soil, but will not hold on to water long enough on its own. If sheโs drying out too fast for you to water her properly I would put her in the next size up pot ๐ฅฐ I always water my Mathilde when sheโs about 90% dry. Sheโs a fast bloomer too if sheโs getting enough water. ๐ค๐ธ๐ผ
Hey there!
Hoya are a pretty easy plant to grow and if you wait long enough it will bloom.
In the meantime do not overwater. Let it dry out. And when you do water make sure the whole root ball is saturated. I usually set mine in a bowl of water for about 30 minutes. They also like bright light. Shows you have it 7 feet from a window, try moving it a little closer.
Let us know how it grows!!!
Green thumbs up!

@DreamMachine the pot is tiny and the substrate it came in is pretty well draining(it literally looks like she put the Hoya in a pile of tiny sticks lol). The soil is drying out completely in between watering and I do check, Iโm worried itโs underwatering actually. I just went on a long vacation and it went unwatered for awhile.
@DreamMachine oh wow!! Canโt wait for mine to kick off :D my other Hoya is growing fast, this oneโs just having a hard time rn lol
