All the flowers fell off my girl what should I do? Actual...

#PhalaenopsisOrchid
@capsong were they going by/wilting anyway? Flowers on the orchid only lasts for so long. If all the flowers are gone then you can trim the stem back to the base of the stalk . Some people cut the stems back to where the last flower grew from hoping to produce another flower spike with more flowers but it doesn’t always work.
If the flowers fell off prematurely then posting some pictures would help a lot.
Yes they wilted the leaves are still very green and healthy looking
@capsong tagging @MariansOasis so she can she your reply
@capsong without a picture I can’t say for sure but it sounds like it was just the end of the road for the flowers. Now just take care of the orchid with proper water and light and hopefully it will bloom again for you! Sometimes it can take several months or longer for it to flowerr again. Don’t be discouraged, just keep up the care. And give it some dilute fertilizer. I like one you dissolve in water. I make it 1/2 strength and water with it each time, skipping once/month using just plain water for that watering πŸ’¦. Don’t get the crown wet!
phaelanopsis orchids’ blooms don’t last forever, usually only lasting 1-2 weeks, then they die off. if you want more blooms, you can cut the spike in between the last closed eye and the first open eye
@MariansOasis what is’the crown’ of the plant
@HappyRedSage hi πŸ‘‹ it’s the part where new leaf growth comes from. Here are a couple of pictures πŸ‘
@HappyRedSage so you don’t want water to sit in the crown of a phalaenopsis orchid. In nature they’re hanging off trees and such 🌳 so when it rains, water drains out of the crevices. Plus there’s breezes & wind allowing constant airflow that dries out those crevices too. When I water I use a cup with a spout & carefully direct it around the medium avoiding the leaves and crown. If I get some in there by accident then I use the edge of a paper towel to soak it up. Or if you can safely do it, turn the orchid upside down. You’ll have to not dump out the bark at the same time lol! Plastic wrap, an old shower cap, a paper plate, spreading your 🀚 fingers and hand across the pot… anything like that works. I also use a fan or the cool setting ONLY of a hairdryer. Hope this helps πŸ™Œ
