Sorry your having issues with your plant. Many times, with ferns especially, lack of humidity can be a killer. The soil needs to be evenly moist at all times and it can't dry out much.

They like lots of bright but indirect light. Northern windows don't offer much light at all. I would recommend eastern light of a few feet back from a southern or western window.

These are warmer weather plants and they can get HUGE. There are folks here in the South who keep them on their front porches, safe from direct sunlight, but they get watered frequently.
