Why does my philodendron have sticky spots?

My red emerald philodendron has some sticky dots on the underside of some of the leaves. It’s only a few of the leaves at the top of the plant. Any ideas what this could be? #Philodendron #PhiloFlock

The only thing I can think of is any pests or it could be guttation if it's just water.
Is this new growth? You may have discovered nectaries! Some species of philodendrons develop nectaries which are those little spots that actually provide some sweet sticky sap, it’s more science than that I believe but it’s the same thing. They are totally normally and usually a sign that your plant is happy, healthy and growing well. Now it’s also possible that similar signs can indicate a pest issue so be a bit vigilant and take a really good look at the plant. Are other discolouration, leaf damage or strange growth? If you look on the back side of the leaf does it look smooth, is anything coming off the leaf or anything moving?

It looks like nectaries to me but definitely keep a look out for pests and treat as needed
I found some sticky spots on one of my orchids. Sometimes it's normal but certain parts like mealy bugs, aphids and scale can produce sticky spots. I read an interesting article on this for my orchids, but I imagine the article would apply to any plant with sticky spots on the leaves. Here's the link

Thank you so much everyone. I am going to inspect and ensure there is no pest problem. @NodeAbode yes these are on the newest leaves! Thanks again everyone, love this community! 🩷πŸͺ΄
