Is my plant dying?

#AmericanJuniper hello this is my first bonsai plant and I’m afraid my plant is dying, some of the leaves or soft and some become super hard, to the point where if I touch them they break off. I water my plant every two weeks and mist leave when I see they look dry. I’m not sure if I’m doing this right. Any words of advise or am I just being a worry wort😁

I'm no professional so don't really take me for granted, but some basic advice which works for every plant I guess; Do not follow watering schedules, you said you water your plant every two weeks and mist it when they look dry, but what I recommend; get a toothpick. Stick. Whatever wooden stick you got, and put it in the soil all the way down. If you pull it out and it's dry; it's time to water it again. Now misting.. the tree does like humidity, but honestly. Misting your plants does nothing. Personal opinion, of course, but it's much better to buy a humidifier at that point. Misting plants helps for like 3 seconds, and you aren't gonna stand there 24/7 misting the plant, are you? You can do it, of course, but never take it too far as misting too much, cause then you might just cause more damage such as mold. Also, these trees like a lot of light, which you don't seem to have. If you have a garden or a balcony- anything, really, then it might thrive better there. Another option is grow light, but I'm not sure if that would work.

I'd recommend checking the soil, if dry, water thoroughly, and then maybe place it outside, somewhere where it'll get a lot of light.
Is it in lava rock or soil?
