Droopy leaves after repotting ☹️
Just split my Caladium into 2 pots yesterday as she was pretty big and #rootbound, but today I have noticed she’s gotten super droopy! My water-thermometer-checker-thing says they’re not in need of water so I don’t think either of them are thirsty, is she just in a bit of shock and will recover? Did I make a mistake repotting her??? Help this overreacting #NewPlantMom 😅

Don’t worry ☺️She’s probably just a little stressed after the pot! Just pretend she looks good and treat her as normal! If the plant needs to sacrifice those leaves, I would wait until the colour has drained before plucking them off (just so she can absorb any nutrients she needs to mend her roots and regrow a new leaf. Caladiums do like moist soil, so don’t let her dry out completely.
I agree with @HoyaAddict! It’s probably transplant shock. Just give her a few days, and she’ll be good as new! ✨🪴💚
Thank you @HoyaAddict and @saatwood ! Would you put them under a grow light and/or humidifier in the mean time?
@alexschildren If it’s a plant you’ve had for a while and have just split, keep it where it was originally or nearby(it was obviously very happy there!) and it probably doesn’t need anything extra. If this is a new plant that you’ve split, yes to both, it could possibly help in the transition period. Don’t worry too much, so long as the rhizome hasn’t rotted away then these plants can come back from anything 😂.
@alexschildren I agree with @HoyaAddict 💯. She’s always has great advice.
