From bright green to dark red/purple

My black prince went from a bright green color to a dark red, almost purple shade over the course of the Summer. Is this normal or something to be concerned about? #Echeveria

The color change in your Echeveria β€˜Black Prince’ from bright green to a darker red or purple during the summer is a natural response to increased sunlight. Many succulents, including Echeverias, exhibit color changes as a form of stress response to factors like intense sunlight or changes in temperature. This process is known as β€œblushing.” As long as the plant looks healthy and continues growing, there’s no cause for concern. However, if you notice signs of sunburn (like brown or white spots), it may be helpful to provide the plant with some partial shade during the hottest part of the day. Otherwise, this color shift is normal and can even enhance the beauty of your plant.
It’s completely normal! It looks pretty. Congrats! Your succulent is a dark colored succulent. Their leaves turn dark purple as they mature that they look almost black. Their leaves pigmentation depends on how much sunlight the plant receives. Yours looks like it’s doing well! Btw, once your echeveria matures, you can look forward to beautiful red flowers in late fall!
This is called dormancy. Signs of dormancy is the darkening, so this is normal. My autumn, it should re-open and the greens and it should get bigger. I have an Aeonium Black Rose that are very similar too. To extend the time that they aren’t dormant, move to a place that is less sunny and more cool during the summer. Congrats! It looks great #dormant
Beautiful sun stressing; congratulations πŸ‘
By the way, there's no colour change in dormancy, because the plant is not growing when dormant. So, it's definitely sunstressing. @Sunshine_1303
@SvelteKingfern sorry I just thought that because mine changed colour slightly in dormancy that it was the same for others sorry πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ˜
Absolutely no need to be sorry PlantPoetry @Sunshine_1303 We're here exchanging our thoughts and knowledge for the benefit of these all beautiful plants. πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ€©

The change of colour in Winter may be created by cold stressing, when the plant is subjected to cold temperature (of course in moderation).
