@GrandmaLori Moving your fiddle leaf fig to the porch might be just the change it needed. The outdoor environment can often provide more natural light and air circulation, which could be beneficial for its overall health and growth. Just keep an eye on its water needs and how it responds to the outdoor conditions. Hopefully, your fiddle leaf fig will enjoy its time on the porch and start showing signs of improvement. Patience and trying different spots will hopefully help your fiddle leaf fig thrive!
@GrandmaLori Hey there! Don't worry too much, a little leaf drop is like your fig's way of saying "Hey, I'm getting used to the place." But if it's shedding more than a cat in spring, we might need to play plant detective! Check if you're drowning it with love (read: overwatering), or maybe it's feeling thirsty (underwatering). Let's talk real drainage - does its pot have holes? And no fig wants uninvited guests, so give it a once-over for any tiny party crashers (pests). Oh, and lighting – make sure it's not sulking in a corner. Also, pot size matters, just like Goldilocks' beds. And soil? Well, it's got to feel like home. Tweak these things and watch your fig make a comeback! 🌿πŸͺ΄
@JungleDreamer thank you I have a meter that checks moisture temp sun etc it always read low sun so after this 7th leaf dropped I placed her outside on my front porch and I’ll see how she likes it out there what ever water drains in plate I suck out with a turkey baster This is what the woman I bought her from instructed me to do (she grows these to a certain size and rehomes them ) I’m hope she likes it on my porch but sadly I wanted a big plant for inside my home in front of my living room window but she’s not happy there from the looks of things
@JungleDreamer thank you !! Im being very positive and patient and praying for the best.. you definitely set my mind to ease, thanks again πŸŒΊπŸ’•πŸŒΊ
This might help
Leaf dropping is normal. I make sure I wipe my leaves with neem oil to keep the pest away. I also use fiddle leaf plant food which helps a lot. My two guys are thriving with direct sunlight. Hope this helps
Wanted to show the fertilizer I use and what my guys look like - Meet Burt and Ernie πŸ’šπŸ’š
@Breathepeace that’s awesome! What soil mixture do you use? My guy is starting to show dark spots on the leaves which I believe indicates root rot but it feels so dry all the time.
