Unsure where to start
I found this plant on the side of the road today with a Free sign... it looks like it could use somw love, but I dont know where to begin. It's long and leggy, some really light green leaves, some dead ones.
New to this kind of plant (and plants in general) any tips on where to begin to get it healthy again?

First thing is that it could use a repot. I think you can go up by two inches. Use a well-draining mix and pot with drainage. Be sure to remove rotten or dead roots as well. Watering schedule should be when the top half of the soil is dry
Next is the clean up the vines. Remove dead leaves and if desired trim back and propagate the clippings in water.

@Tashmygosh21 I would add to @Araceae βs comment: thoroughly check all over for pests, and I mean everywhere. Tips and bottoms of leaves all around and up and down every vine, every nook where the petioles (βleaf stemsβ) meet the vines, every cranny where there are sheaths of plant matter, flaps. Often people decide to get rid of a plant that might have an issue with it. So look up common pests for philodendrons or really just houseplant in general and become familiar with what they look like and the signs they leave, and youβll be ahead of the game!
