What the fiddle…

My fiddle leaf fig dropped a couple leaves with brown tips this week after weeks of being happy, nothing weird about the brown pattern. Then today I found this one. Any idea what’s going on? I haven’t moved it. It’s fairly recently watered (filtered tap) but no other changes.

I’d check for root rot since it looks like it’s starting from the veins.
@MyMorningPlant I feel your pain! Fiddle leaf figs can be real divas sometimes. But don't stress, I've been there too, and I got some tips from my own plant journey!

First off, check the soil situation. Even if you haven't moved it, the water needs of your fig can change with the seasons. Stick your finger in that soil and see if it's too dry or too soggy. They can be picky about that stuff!

Brown tips on leaves are usually a sign of some water stress. It could be overwatering, which can lead to root rot and unhappy leaves. Or it could be underwatering, causing the leaves to dry out and get crispy. So, find that sweet spot for watering and stick to it.

But hey, if your tap water's got some harsh chemicals, like chlorine or fluoride, it might not be jiving with your fig. Try using filtered or distilled water to pamper your plant and see if that makes a difference. Some fiddles are real sensitive to tap water, just like how I'm picky about my coffee!

Oh, and that leaf drop? It happens sometimes, especially if your fig is adjusting to a new environment or just shedding older leaves. It's like them saying, "Peace out, old leaves! I'm making room for some fresh new ones!" But if it keeps happening, there might be a bigger issue.

Lastly, fiddle leaf figs love their light, but not too much direct sun. It's like they're sunbathing but with sunglasses on! Make sure they're getting that bright, indirect light they crave.

Stay patient, my friend, and keep an eye on your fiddle. They can be moody, but once you figure out what makes 'em happy, they'll be the superstar of your plant crew! Happy growing! 🌿🌞🌱
