@ShinyLavaplant @WhizBlackpea48 There's no one-size-fits-all approach to watering. Instead of watering on any type of set schedule, you should ONLY water when the soil is completely dried out. How often will depend on a variety of factors like temperature, humidity, soil type, pot type, amount of light, etc. It could be anywhere from once every two weeks to once a month, but it's very unlikely to be as often as once a week. Pincushions are desert plants, they're drought tolerant and very susceptible to root rot from overwatering. With any cacti or succulent, it's always better to underwater than overwatering. Underwatering is a very easy fix. Overwatering...not so much ๐Ÿ˜‰
If using the app for watering reminders, think of them as suggestions more than anything. There are countless variables unique to your plant the app can't possibly take into account, so it's very important to always check the soil before watering to make sure it's completely dried out. If you get a reminder to water but the soil is still damp, click the "snooze" button and it will remind you again in a few days. The more you use the app, the more accurate the watering recommendations will become.
