Should I repot it in a smaller pot or back in water?

Hello there I was wondering what I should do with this propagation. At first it was in water and it did well but now after almost a year in soil it looks like this. And I don’t know in what I should repot it in a smaller pot or back in water. I also checked the roots and they are okay I think but there are not a whole lot I can see. So I hope someone with more experience than me knows whats better since I have no clue. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hi F!

I would recommend potting in a smaller pot and giving it lots of light. Many plants prefer to be tight in their pots, especially when establishing new roots. Since it was in water it's working on roots better adapted to soil.

I'm not great with succulents, but I think the plant ID on the card is incorrect and that your plant is a type of succulent. This means they really like to be tight in pots and don't have huge root systems.

@PlantMompy thanks for the advice! I am quite new to plants and I thought at the time that this pot was good since it was terra cottaπŸ™ˆ and yes it is a kind of succulent I don’t know if it is the right plant like the ID since I didn’t know the name but it looked like it
Terracotta is a great choice! Just look for something smaller. I use a lot of 2" terracotta for props just learning πŸ™‚
