@Lxylaydee can you post a pic of the whole plant. But just be sure not to overwater or underwater your Monstera as it will start to brown and can lose color. When watering check the soil about 2 to 3β below the soils surface. Itβs itβs dry then itβs time to water. Also I use Shake and feed iby Miracle Gro in the spring and summer time to fertilize my Majesty Palm and Monsteras. I honestly think that leaf will be just fine. It looks very healthy.
If you go from rooting in soil to rooting in water, it is imperative that you remove all the soil. You don't want that beautiful cutting to rot.
I've a recovering overwaterer and the best thing I learned was: add perlite.
I cut the soil with perlite and it makes the soil fast-draining. That way I can still water and the plant doesn't sit in water. (:
Love love your bio!

@Lxylaydee @sarahsalith has some awesome ideas as well. Sheβs good at it as well, very knowledgeable.
@KikisOasis hi! Thanks so much!! Itβs actually in coco chunks right now I may check out the roots soon and give it a mix with soil and perlite along with the chunks, my monsteras seem to like that mix
@Breanna_mac good call! Amazon is not a thing here π but Iβll see if I can pick one up at a nursery ππΎ thanks!
@sarahsalith thank you!! Yes perlite is my friend π€£ itβs easier to get coco chunks/coir here, Iβve been mixing it with potting mix and they seem to like the air pockets it makes for the roots. I may mix it up soon and see how it goes. Either way Iβll check on the roots and see how itβs going!! π
@Lxylaydee that plant is BEAUTIFUL! I hope it roots soon.
I was buying perlite in small bags from our local farm supply and the owner saw me and brought out the HUGEST bag I've ever seen! It had to be three feet tall. Needless to say, I have a LOT of perlite. (:
It's also helpful when my boys want to water my plants; it's less stressful knowing that the soil will drain fast. (:
