Dying leaves
I have Lemi in a self watering pot, it’s been doing very well growing a lot. In the past month I’ve noticed a lot of the stems on the bottom turning brown and dying off, some of the leaves on the end of the stems are yellow and brown. I’m very new to this plant so I’m unsure what it’s trying to tell me. I thought maybe too much light so I moved it to a slightly shadier area but still no change. Do I need to change the way I water it? Or is something else the problem? #FernFriends

@LeafyGreenz How often and how much do you water? As I see you’re in Texas, I’m betting on underwatering, but I can’t be sure until I know how you water. These are native to northern Australia and Asia and are found in swamps, ditches, and growing on trees. They like moist, well draining soil and humid conditions but have been know to be drought tolerant, and can take some full sun, unlike a lot of ferns.
@DreamMachine it’s in a self watering pot, where I bought the plant they had a string hanging out of the bottom of the pot and water in a tray. I have it still in the same nursery pot with the string and I keep the self watering pot with about an inch of water in it all the time.
