How to encourage branching?
#StrobilanthesDyeriana I just got this plant I am curious on how to encourage branching to make it fuller? Does it branch on its own over time or will I need to prune to encourage it to branch out?

Look down the stem for sucker leaves (little branches popping out) where ever they are, take the leaf off that is growing directly under it and it will promote the branch to grow faster. You can also top it as well which is just cutting off the entire top of a main stem right above where to new branches are coming out which will make those two babies grow out and main stalks.
I have had nothing but bad luck with Persian Shields. They are stunning. I'd love any tips on how to keep them from dying... I don't have this problem with any other plant.
