how to propagate monsteras on a budget?

good morning! i few months ago i purchase the pictured monstera adansonii, and it seems like propagating may be a necessity in the nearish future because she’s gotten SO TALL (like doubled in height in less than four months). i have failed in water propagating a monstera peru recently and don’t want to chop her down just for the babies all to die :(

I have always propped mine in water, but you could always try a sphag mixture. You have to make sure that when you chop it you are including a node or it won’t grow.

I like to prop in perlite. Keep a low reservoir and it will wick the water up to help it root. Also, humidity helps. Like a perlite humidity box. Also, give that baby a pole to climb and she be super happy.
