Did I watered it too much?/not enough?#newplantmom

It's my first time caring for a plant so I am very inexperienced. My spanish plum tree is turning yellow and some of the leaves are getting yellowish and brown near the edges. Did I water it too much?

That does sound like overwatering. Yellowing is often a telltale sign. Although, I am not familiar with the Spanish plum tree
