Help! Red Congo care

Shes got a brown spot that keeps getting bigger. After 2wks from the garden center i repotted her as she was root bound. And her soil is moist, in proper drainage soil. I dunno what i should do? Should i cut stem at base? Also can i bottom water this plant like i do my other plants? #redcongophilodendron #philodendron #help
Snip that bad leaf off!!!
@YammieOf3 Just the leaf or The whole stem near the base?
Hey Jax! Yes you can bottom water.

I would snip that leaf off right lower down the stem.

This could be just the plant getting rid of old leaves (itโ€™s normal) or an overwatering or too dense of a soil situation.
@ranchinhippie thanks. Yeah, I don't think the soil is too dense. Cuz I just reposed it in a air rated soil, That's specifically made for philodendrons so ok I'll cut the stem at the base then.
For a Philodendron Congo Rojo, when you see "tipping" (browning of the leaf), you should first explore underWATERing and HUMIDity issues, @shopofhorrors because that's what usually causes this behavior.
They looooove higher HUMIDities ... and YES, bottom watering is great with rojos because it keeps their roots strong enough to support their wide growth.

๐ŸŒฟ Good Luck! ๐ŸŒฟ
Yes your best course of action here is to cut the bad leaf off so the plant stops expending energy on it and it starts placing it towards new growth if you see this happen again in new growth check your roots or check for pest
I cut the brown spot off like this?

Now, carry on with providing your plantbaby an atmosphere conducive to her growing needs and she'll continue growing healthy and happy, @shopofhorrors . Growing forward, just remember that they are tropical so they thrive on HUMIDity. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ
I have two(2) of them.
Here's Consuela... didn't feel like going downstairs to snap Constance ๐Ÿคญ
