Red spots?

I've seem a lot of posts about succulents getting red spots in them but I can't find them. Is it bad or it is just from water splashing up and rhen the sun getting to it? Also a few of my plants are losing the powdery outter layer on the leaves and looking shiny instead of the powdery look like usual... help me #plantsmakepeoplehappy #greggang #growingsuccs #ghostplant #Succulentsquad #graptosedum #echeveria #sedum
Powder is called farina, it will disappear when you touch them πŸ₯Ή they won’t come back so try not to touch your farina leaves, it’s a type of sunscreen. As for red spots, yes I think they’re little burns from sunlight through water beads. (Hard to tell without pictures though)
@HoyaAddict I'll post pics in just a minute I got to go out to them lol
Some plants produce red pigment on the leaves for protection from extreme heat and sun.
@hoyaqddict it never comes back?! Errrggggg my girls pet the petals (babies as they call them) I've been trying to keep them iff bc regardless of the plant uts not good yo be super handsy but daggummit I didn't know it wouldn't come back of it ever came off πŸ˜’
@KrunchyWrap Aww I know how you feel! I stroked my succulents far too much until I learned. Then I just petted my non farina….until a few weeks ago. I disappointingly discovered that plants hate being touched and can grow up to 30% less if being touched frequently 😭😫 I love stroking them all but now I stop myself unless it’s for dusting. It’s killer haha
