Losing leaves
Last watered 1 year ago
@WinPeacockfern They prefer full sun and well draining soil. It says that it's in a pot without drainage which might be an issue. They are also Divas who like consistency. Water when the first couple of inches of soil are dry and increase light for best chances of success. ๐
Hi Shawna! It sounds like your Silver Dollar Tree might be experiencing some stress. There are a few things that could be causing leaf loss:
* Overwatering: Silver Dollar Trees prefer well-draining soil and can be susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Make sure the pot has drainage holes and allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
* Underwatering: While overwatering is a common problem, underwatering can also cause leaf drop. Check the soil moisture regularly and water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry.
* Light: Silver Dollar Trees prefer bright, indirect light. Ensure your plant is getting enough light, but avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
* Temperature: Silver Dollar Trees thrive in temperatures between 65-75ยฐF (18-24ยฐC). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
* Pests: Check for pests like mealybugs or spider mites. Treat any infestations promptly.
If you've recently moved your plant or changed its environment, it might take some time to adjust. Be patient and continue to provide optimal care. With a little TLC, your Silver Dollar Tree should recover and thrive.
