What are these stains?#satinpothos #help #pestcontrol
Since September, it's been getting these spots on its leaves. Some spots are dark, and others look like they've faded. From behind, the leaves look normal. The leaves haven't dried out or anything, but I'm worried it might be a fungus or something else.

Hi ! Do you water your plant at a regular place ? And is the soil drying? Because if your plant is over watered or because it is not getting enough sunlight (so then the soil is too moist) it might fade in colour
Think that plants that naturally has white stripes or spots, it means that they are able to absorb a lot of light. So they need to be quite close to the window without direct sunlight. In addition, it is best to let the plant absorb the water as you seem to do already for 20 minutes maximum (Or maybe a bit less longer but more often if you want)

Those leaves are spotted kind of pathos I believe, the stain part might be that plants way of leaving, because itβs an older leaf also over watering. Your pot is small in the picture not sure how much water youβre using. The plant does need bright indirect sunlight, if one leaf is in the sun will burn. I have one as well and itβs sits on top of a cabinet in the kitchen getting bright indirect light from the window. I water mine once a week or so depending on the soil test. Simply usually my finger two inches dry needs water. You could also tell when the leaves curl and look sleepy means they are thirsty. Hope this helps.
@MamaLinne None of the leaves have black spots on the underside. And the spots on the front are more like discoloration not white specks. I saw a few bugs in the soil, but only one or two, and they weren't white.
@FitSapote24 I water it when the soil is dry (about every two weeks) and I usually let it drain after soaking it. It's on a shelf near the window; it doesn't get direct sunlight, but it does get plenty of indirect light. I'm not sure what else I can do to make it look betterβwhether to water it less or move it closer to the window.
@Littlejungle57 So it could be because the leaf is old? I usually water it every two weeks or whenever the soil is dry. I don't leave it in the water for long, and then I let it drain before putting it back in the pot. I keep it near the window, but it doesn't get direct sunlight. It's had these spots for a few months now, but I don't understand what they are since I don't water it much and it doesn't get excessive sun.
@Monsteralu What kind of light does your scindapsus get? Your info card says NW βdo they get any direct sunshine? Has it changed lately? That pot looks a bit too big. With low light and a big pot I wouldnβt be surprised if youβre dealing with root rot in there.
@8elephantsdance I just checked your cards and 5 feet from a northwest window on a shelf is quite low light. It.
@PrinceVince44 It's the same soil they gave me at the florist when I bought it. I think it's specifically for pothos and it drains well; I always let it drain completely before putting it in the larger pot. I usually water it from the bottom. Perhaps I should water it from the top and use less water?
@8elephantsdance I moved it a while ago and put it closer to the window (less than 1 meter away). As for watering, I usually submerge it for about 20 minutes and then let it drain before putting it back in its pot. Perhaps I should water it from above or move it even closer to the window?
