What’s wrong with my cactus’s flowers?

They bloomed for one day when I got him but after that they began to shrivel up (I also don’t know the exact species, he didn’t come with a tag)
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 10 months ago
This looks like a balloon cactus to me! Flowers can shrivel due to overwatering, leading to root rot. Or even underwatering, leading to the cactus to go into survival mode (shriveling the flowers to conserve every). I would say make sure to allow the soil to dry out before waterings (approx. 0.5 cups of water every 11 days). Balloon cacti also need bright light to thrive and flower, I would recommend a south-facing window! Hope this helps! :)
