Recently repotted and now it’s struggling.

#WhiteBirdOfParadise was really healthy when we bought it. I split the two plants into their own separate pots with tropical potting mix and moved it to a grow light. The newest leaf got damaged in the move and the leaves are curling and browning at the ends. I’m following the watering schedule but maybe I’m missing something? The mix feels like it holds more moisture than the coco blend it came in.
Does the pot have drainage? Also what type of grow light do you have? It may be transplant shock. How long did you have it at home and was it in that location before splitting into two?
The pot has drainage and a drip tray. I had it for two weeks next to a window before I got the light set up. It’s a full spectrum light on a 14hr timer and was originally about 18” from the top. Now that it’s drooping quite a bit it’s closer to 30”
@HeiressSalal59 it looks like your plant is in a bit of shock. I would lower the light to be closer to the plant and let it dry out just a bit more before watering next time.

It looks like Greg is still learning about your oasis and the schedule for watering might be a little aggressive toward the overwatering thing.

I would recommend the finger-in-the-soil test to see if the top few inches are dry before watering again. Just snooze the Greg notification and water when the top couple inches are dry. Eventually Greg will figure out the timing.

Otherwise just let it be. Sometimes the shock of repotting can be a lot, especially if you separated two plants. Give it a few weeks to see if it can bounce back on its own. But I would recommend no fertilizer for a few weeks, just to get the plant acclimated to its new pot and light.

Best wishes!!
