Maybe two different plants in the same pot and one is getting fewer nutrients? It does seem like it's not a leaf here and there, but rather two clear-cut sides, which to me would seem like two plants.
Sometimes marantas don't put out consistent leaf patterns. In your case, because the lighter leaves look like the newer leaves, it might be a reaction to transition to a brighter location or just standard shiny new leaf dull old leaf kinda thing that's common in lots of plants
@Araceae I have noticed it’s the newer leaves that are that pale bright green color, and the older ones are very dark and deep in color, it’s been giving me a TON of new growth. I’ve just been worried maybe needs more fertilizer? Or too much sun? Or if they’ll darken up in time naturally and they’re just young
They do get brighter with more sun. But even though they are marketed as low light plants, they really like sun to a certain degree. In my window spot my Maranta flowered like crazy. Now I'm a more shade spot, not at all. Also: as long as the leaves don't burn or take damage, why not have them a bit brighter πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Though they do require *some* fertilizer, I've heard of several people on here that very easily burned the roots, which confirms for me that they only like very little of it.
I've had mine putting out only really yellow new leaves (not like yours, really sickly yellow) a while ago, and once I upped the fertilizer that went away. Mind you, though, I only use orchid fertilizer on it, which by its nature is very, very weak compared to others. And it was spending a lot of energy on the blooms at that time. They really don't need (nor like) a lot.
