πŸ†˜ 🚨 IVY IN CRITICAL CONDITION 🚨 πŸ†˜

My Ivy Gold Child was 4’ from a south window behind another plant to deflect some direct sunlight.

Slowly it got sunburned and many of the leaves fell off. I soaked it, trimmed off the dead leaves, and put it on my shelf about 11’ from the window. It looks like it’s getting worse! #sadbeforeandafter

Leaves are crispy and brown!

Yikes! 😳 I’m so sorry!! I would just give it a good bottom water to really saturate those roots and give it normal care from here on out. Prune the brown, crispy leaves unfortunately they won’t recover and you may lose them all. Just give it some good TLC; don’t do anything too drastic and with time it MAY come back, but that’s a strong maybe. It may benefit from some extra humidity as well. This is just what I would do personally if I were in your position. I really hope you can get your ivy back to good health soon!
*not overwatered*
@ABCD looks underwatered. But Ivy isn’t my speciality.
@Blau_Ozean it was underwatered but how do I fix it?
@ABCD cut back the dried up foliage, water & fertilize. Cutting it back should get it to kick new growth out.
@Blau_Ozean all the leaves are dried up… There will be no leaves left
@ABCD how is the stem after the last dead leaf & closest to the soil? If it’s still healthy, it should be fine. I’ve cut a fiddle & pothos back to nothing & they grew back because there was healthy nodes to provide new growth. Plants are resilient when given the right conditions to come back.
@Blau_Ozean I see one healthy stem that’s on the soil
My ivy vine grows right on the window sill on a SW facing window. I think you might have missed a key part of their care which is keeping the leaves hydrated. Apparently they don’t like to be dry. I usually do a quick rinse under the faucet while I’m watering the soil. Try that and see if it helps
@fabiana will do if it’s recovered
@sarahsalith know how to help it come back (if it’s not dead)
Agree w everyone here!! Hope it can make a recovery!
I'm sorry, I can only tell you 50 ways to kill ivy. πŸ˜–
@sarahsalith it’s dead?
From experience, yes. πŸ˜–πŸ˜© I'm sorry.
But @RJG is hopeful! So don't listen to me- I'm wrong A LOT!

Ivy is on my #NeverAgain list.
@sarahsalith I’m going to try
@ABCD DO IT!!
Ok @Blau_Ozean @fabiana @babyfiretiger13 @RJG and @sarahsalith recovery period has begun. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή (see two healthy stems!)
@ABCD keep us updated & sending lots of love!
@Blau_Ozean will do!
@ABCD You got this 😊
@ABCD I’m hopeful too! I’m totally a hippie at heart, free spirit πŸ¦‹ and if it’s meant to be, it will be! If not, it’s the devil πŸ˜›
Sorry Peter! I’m no help with ivy…somehow I always end up killing them. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜’
