Ok now I’m stressin🥲

Hi fellow Greggers! I posted a question almost a week ago asking about my dragon plant and that it was losing leaves quite quickly, the leaves that were lost were completely brown.

But now it’s starting to lose the green leaves as well and the root of the leaves is looking brown.

The plant is starting to look quite sparse and I noticed that there’s a whole branch in the middle that has zero leaves on it and the branch itself, also looks scorched at the top, I’ve added a photo for reference.

It seems like the side of the plant that is facing the sunlight is doing much better, whereas the side of the plant that’s facing the inside of my house is not doing well. (Attached a photo looking from the underside of the section that faces away from the window. There’s a literal hole where leaves have shed 🥲)

Should I be rotating it? i’m following Greg‘s recommendations 100%. I did notice some white flecks on a few of the branches. Google says it could be Mealybugs?

Lots happening here I know. Any insight would be awesome! Thank you. 😭🤎

Rotating is always a good idea. I wonder if it’s maybe overwatered. Do you check the soil moisture before watering? Greg does it’s best for watering advice, but the soil is your best indicator 👍🏻🪴
@debbiedo I do! It’s always actually quite dry before Greg’s watering recommendations! So I wonder if it’s the opposite lol
@Alexsquared I don’t know, the wilt-y stalk makes me think root rot. Does the soil drain well? It could be that it doesn’t dry uniformly so some parts are staying wet when others need water.
@debbiedo yes I thought the same initially about that stalk. When we water the Greg recommended amount, the water does drain out the bottom. I thought maybe it wasn’t actually drinking the water and just pouring through but that was a random guess 😅
That can happen for sure, the soil can become hydrophobic. But I think the whole plant would drooping and leaves would be drying. Have you had a peak at the roots?
It could be because you repotted the plant (if you have) or it could be because you have moved into a.new home(if you have). So it could be because it was moved to a new environment (if you have). And that's COMPLETELY normal
And if you want to kill the bacteria use some rubbing alcohol
AND it could also have root rot
@PlantAgenet117 I appreciate your insights!
I didn’t repot it, but I did move it to an indoor environment when I’m pretty positive it was outdoor previously!

I bought it from a little market on the side of the road, I live in Costa Rica and the likelihood of them keeping all of these plants inside until they sell is highly unlikely, so I’m assuming that it needed to adjust to my home environment.

I had a feeling originally that it was shedding leaves maybe because it didn’t need as much “protection” as it does outside??? (that’s how my mind tried to justify it anyways). 🤣

i’m going to do the rubbing alcohol and see if that helps, and if not, I will check the roots next.

Really hoping it’s not root rot because I have no idea how to fix that 🥲
@debbiedo not yet — that is my next move! Thank you so much
Your welcome by the way
