Alocasia turning yellow
Any idea why one of the leaves of my Alocasia is turning yellow? Thanks in advance!

This could be nothing more than the oldest leaf dying off (part of its normal growth cycle). Just be mindful of how wet the soil is when you have a plastic pot inside another pot like that, the reduced airflow to the soil means it can stay damp too long, potentially leading to root rot. This will often show up first in the leaves closest to the soil.
@GemHautree you're welcome!
Hi @stephonicle, should I cut the yellow leaf or just leave it be?
@GemHautree you can remove it at this point since it no longer has any green. I usually wait if there is still some green on the leaf, because that means it can still photosynthesize and provide energy for the plant.
@GemHautree I agree with Steph completely! You also want to cut off a dying leaf because a plant will use a ton of energy to get it off. Itβs just saving it an extra step! With Alocasias if just one leaf is affected then itβs usually natural. Itβs when itβs more than one that there is usually problem. Beautiful plant!
