Is this normal?
I noticed these shriveled leaves and gently tugged. One came out immediately, another took a bit more pressure but still came off pretty easily and then I spotted a third (middle pic) before I pulled it, I wanted to make sure it was normal. The base almost looks reddish/brown. Not much experience with succulents so Iβm not sure whether this is normal or if I would be concerned.
Heβs currently in the peat mix he came home in, but he was root bound so I put him in a bigger pot (without breaking up the roots or the peat mix) after a month and backfilled with a succulent/bonsai mix. I water when he feels feather-light and heβs currently in a west facing windowsill.

@RootWrangler the peat around the roots could pose a problem. When you have a finer texture of soil around the roots but surrounded by a chunky texture of soil, the water is not going to disperse evenly through both mixes. It will remain cooped up, right next to the roots. Peat can go hydrophobic too, in my experience, if you wait too long to water. It can just cause watering issues. So I would recommend repotting in only that succulent mixture you have.
To minimise root damage, I use a dunk and swish method in a bowl of water to get the peat near the roots off, and then I alternate with a gentle spray from the sink faucet. I spray into a bucket, and then dump the bucket outside so youβre not washing soil down your drains!
