a premium potting mix works fine but aeration is key! i’d suggest making your own mix with peat based or coco coir potting mix, coarse sand, perlite or pumice :)
Hi Vickie- like Isabelle said- make a mix of a peat or coco coir based soil, even cactus/succulent mix… with perlite- 60%soil mixture and 40% perlite. Lucky bamboo need good aeration. I grew mine in water and they got 5 feet tall and didn’t find in the window anymore so I potted them- and that was their demise- but mine were way older and bigger than yours. The biggest ting I can say about that plant is to use distilled, rainwater or tap water that has aired out for 24 hours…they are very sensitive to chlorine and salt from hard tap- like mine. πŸͺ΄πŸ’•
